"The Sound of Europe" is a Comenius - School Partnership Project.
It started in October 2007 and will be concluded in June 2009.
A general description of the project follows.
The building up of Europe is possible only thanks to the people and their intercultural dialogue, through their awareness of common values shared by all European cultures, through the strengthening of belonging and brotherhood feelings and through the actual practicing of an active and aware citizenship.
With the concrete outcome of an anthology of European author songs, the project wants to gather young people from 5 European countries and enable them to find out, through the universal languages of Music and Poetry, the common values shared by their cultures.
The students will be directly involved in all the operational phases of the project, keeping in touch with each other regularly via e-mails, videoconferences, and also by innovative technologies such as the sharing of calendars, documents via the Internet.
Students with different abilities and learning difficulties will have the opportunity to participate in all phases of the project so that they will be able to broaden their cultural horizons in coming across other European countries and cultures.
The project activities will be distributed along the entire period of the experience in the following way:
1st year: RESEARCH and REFLECTION : reflecting upon the European Constitution and discovering those values that are also shared by each partner’s culture (contained in its own Constitution): Choosing author songs which express those values, reflecting on the poetic aspects of their lyrics; inserting them in the Anthology and sharing results with the other partners; Creating a website for the Anthology.
2nd year. BUILDING UP AND SHARING : sharing the messages and the music of the songs; doing musical performances; creating a multimedia product that enables people to listen to the songs of the Anthology while reading their lyrics, either in their original language or in English and to look at images connected with the themes of the songs, visualized on the screen. The end product will be realized according to the regulations according to the copyright issue.
